2012 Dixie Youth State Meeting will be Saturday, February 4th at Joe Wheeler State Park.  Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.

District 1 Spring Meeting - March 10th at 10 a.m. at Decatur Utilities Building
District 11 Spring Meeting - March 10th at 2 p.m. at Muscle Shoals Park and Rec

District 1 Umpire Clinic - March 11th at 2 p.m. at Decatur Utilities Building

Summary of DYB Bat Specifications

1)Effective with the 2012 season, DYB will apply specific standards on all 2 1/4” non-wood bats.

2) All non-wood 2 ¼” bats (composite & aluminum/metal alloy) must be stamped with BPF 1.15 and stamped “Approved for Play in Dixie Youth Baseball” by the bat manufacturer and include the year manufacture stamp (“2011”or “2012”).

3) While new 2 ¼” aluminum/metal alloy bats require the BPF 1.15 stamp in 2012, older aluminum/metal alloy bats with only the “Approved for Play in Dixie Youth Baseball” stamp will continue to be allowed. DYB will not publish a list of approved aluminum/metal alloy bats.

4) All 2 5/8” bats do not require any approval or marking but may be used only in the “O”Zone Division. A new BBCOR-type standard is being developed for 2 5/8” bats for use in the “O”Zone division which will go into effect no earlier than 2013.

5) An older 2 ¼”composite bat which does not have all the required markings stamped on the bat by the manufacturer as described in (2) above will be allowed in 2012 if it is marked “Approved for Play in Dixie Youth Baseball” and appears on the list below:
